Your community is part of the Southern Middlesex Flood Mitigation and Resiliency Study. Flood resilience is the ability of a community to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from flood events in ways that minimize damage to the built and natural environment, people, and the economy. This includes mitigative measures and resilience strategies to reduce future vulnerability and recovery time. Flood resilience requires careful planning and implementation. This study is designed to develop mitigation and resilience strategies for the study area.

A key component of the study is understanding the nature and frequency of flooding and how it impacts residents, businesses, and other property owners, and Middlesex County needs your help! Please complete the questionnaire below to share information about your experience with flooding at your home or property and in your neighborhood.

Why Your Input Matters 

Local knowledge is essential to helping us understand where flooding occurs and how it affects property in your community. While state and federal agencies map flood hazard zones, these maps do not necessarily capture actual local flood history, which can best be provided by those who experience the flooding.

The following questions request information on your experience with flooding to provide Middlesex County with vital information toward understanding the flooding concerns in your community. This information will be used to evaluate flooding in the study area and to develop flood resiliency and mitigation strategies.
